Canned 7/16/20
Pours a huge foamy 3 finger tan head with slower retention, soapy lacing, dark almost black color
nose is quite nice for an oatmeal stout, some roasty aromas, a little coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, a little biscuity dark cereal grain, hint of nougat and caramel, nice roast without burnt
Taste brings nice creamy oatmeal, with a good level of roast again, roasted malt and a little coffee, some cocoa dark chocolate notes, almost like a semi-sweet chocolate chip character, a little nougat and baking spice note, grainy toasted malts, fair spicy hop bitterness, drier finish, med bitterness with a bit more spicy hop character
Mouth is med bod, creamy rich almost chewy but not quite there, med carb
Overall pretty solid oatmeal stout, great roast and chocolate without burnt or acrid, nice oatmeal rich creamy, perfect level of hops, this was very well done and will become one of my staple winter beers if they continue to produce it

Pours a deep impenetrable dark brown to black with two fingers of dense light tan head with great retention and nice lacing. I love the aroma, lots of roasted grains with coffee notes, a little nutty, a hint sweet. Taste is similar to the aroma, roasty, coffee notes, a touch of cocoa, a little sweetness but overall just leans bitter. Close to full bodied but not too sweet, medium plus carbonation, creamy. This is just a really good, straight forward stout. No crazy adjuncts or barrel, just well developed flavors from the malts/grains. It’s not flashy but that’s what I love about it, it’s been awhile since I had a stout like this.
