I was wondering where the milkshake part was on the pour, and evidently it was lurking in the bottom third or less of the can. It looks like clouds with chunky bits rolling down trough an initially clear liquid. The head was nice, but the glop from the last of the pour created a yellow spot...hmmm...Mr. Zappa said watch out where the huskies go... Basically I think this is an ugly looking beer.
The smell isn't bad. The passionfruit and blood orange are definitely present, but it essentially ends there. One dimensional - well, I guess two...
The taste is essentially carbonated fruit juice. I am a fan of passionfruit liquer, but it isn't working with the blood orange - there's a clash going on that is bordering on the unpleasant. There is no malt to speak of, but a touch of vanilla sweetness that actually helps a little. I think the description by the brewery is quite misleading.
The feel is slightly to the medium side of things, but not as luxurious, silky and smooth as others I have had in this style.
Overall, not a beer I need to revisit. The only caveat is no canning date, but I don't see anything age related in what I experienced in the look, smell, and taste. I think this beer is a decisively below average example, I do not believe it is age-related, and the misrepresentation in the description is at the least annoying.
