Served on Cask
Light brown color and nearly clear. Large bubbled head but it sticks around. Oddly, it provides very little lacing on the glass.
If I were blindfolded, I would guess this is a Brown Ale with darker malt smells.
The flavor matches the smell of a typical brown ale. Very, very low carbonation (as expected) but the thinner body works with this. The malt is semisweet chocolate with a touch black patent (coffee). The finish is a nice balancing bittering hop.
Like a nitro pour, I wish there were more cask offerings at bars/breweries. It provides a different, more expansive experience.
