Tourbillon

I don't know how this Saison differs from Tourbillon Reserve except that the ABV is higher. It's a pretty pour: slightly hazy, bright golden and effervescent. It sports a creamy, ecru cap and lacing. The smell features Belgian yeast, tobacco smoke, and a hint of sweet fruit. Its taste opens with the normal Belgian notes of yeast and spicing, along with tart grapefruit. But as it warms I can taste sweeter notes of red berry and stone fruit. The carbonation is lively and champagne-like and it's highly drinkable at 5.3% ABV. Overall, Tourbillon is a Saison brewed to American taste with a hint of tropical fruit sweetness to counter the farmhouse funk.
