Bacon dusted fries....if you need to know more they have an awesome draft list that is comprised on tons of local offerings as well as most of the standard and popular brewing co's. Great spot for lunch or dinner and a few beers, just be prepared to wait at the bar for a table because the place is popular....and rightfully so!

3 hourish run out from Vermont this morning. Portland now and drink drank, but I could use a bite. Witz knows a place and I can get anywhere accidentally although this one’s easy. You run Forest from points out Allagash right up the goddamn hill to where it ends at Congress. Hook a left and land a sweet slander spot if you can (you can’t, ‘cause you’re not him), or set on circling sadly instead...
Corner joint up high in Portland proper. Deep place with a long concrete topped straight bar to the right; panel base, a foot box, & seating for nearly a dozen and a half on shorty backed hightop chairs. A pair of 3 tap ‘T’ towers on the bar and a pair of twofers further along, 10 taps in all. Barback wall of black; a center flat with a shelf above holding bottled selections and tiered booze countered below. Units to both sides with vertical blackboard inners listing food selections and glassware shelved fronting mirrorage with small flatscreens atop. A dozen copper topped 2-seaters adjacent on a looong bench shared, and a single larger table up front.
Something of a dark concrete floor and an arched center ceiling with white framings. Front wall of vertical paned windows, which I suspect are doors a-folding, and a N-O-S-H piece in the 4 panel windows above. Far wall holds large windows over side street Oak with strawberryishlike planters potted. There’s some art between the windows (some great pen & ink drawings on the cheap, I sooo wish I could do), and a cluster more up front. Open kitchen area to the rear backed by shelves sauces and jarred things. Mounted corn on the cob lanterns on the outer wall, a single mesh cylinder lamp up front, drop strung baby spots over the kitchenings, and sunken spots over the bar proper.
10 taps; half of them Maine and border offerings (In’Finiti The Killing, Bunker Brown Ale, Oxbow Saison Noel, Captain Dick’s Pecan Bourbon Porter, Smuttynose Winter), and the other half a mix of craft (Prairie Xmas, Green Flash Cedar Plank Pale Ale, Uinta Sea Legs Baltic Porter, Weyerbacher Winter), and a cider (JK Scrumpys Organic Cider). I drank the In’Finiti The Killing (a great cranberry sour) and Bunker Brown (tasty tasty). Oh, the bottle list, sure. Nearly 2 dozen options, macro, micro, import, gluten free, cider, & N/A. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see it; but I just cannot fathom how Carnegie Porter made this list.
And food. I noshed with the dumpling board and Nosh crispy wings, both had heat in their own ways. Witz described his as a wonderful pretzel and fantastic poutine. Our server was polite and tolerant. This was a good idea for a beer(s) and a bite but don’t tell Witzel as he’s already completely impossible.
Revisited 3 months later one night not too late and ordered a pair of Stone Enjoy By’s.
Bartender asks, “Who’s the other one for?”
“My buddy, he’s hitting the bathroom”.
“Well, I’ll have to hold it until he shows”.
Really, dick bartender? ‘cause I look like a guy’s who’s going to pound a pair of 9 and a half percvent Double IPA’s, right? That guy’s a jaaackass. But otherwise…
