Hazy dull golden yellow, colour of grapefruit juice. Short head, but plenty of lace all the way. Fruity nose, hops plus tropical fruit. Citrus and melon. Not just ordinary grapefruit hops. High ABV buried away in fruit and pith. Not heavy handed for a double IPA, either. Hoppy, but not overpowering. Sweet up front, dry to finsh, juicy mouth feel overall.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario 473ml at 8.2%.
Poured a 2finger head into glass.
The color was very hazy and foggy .
Lots of tropical flavors with a medium to high bitterness but very smooth .
Overall very good quality beer it's strong so maybe just sip on it
Cheers.

Look: Pours bright and hazy. A muted golden colour, with a 1 finger head. The head disappated to a ring of lace after 5 minutes.

Smell: Definately tropical with the pineapple, cantaloupe, and green melon. A bit of mustiness with a hint of lime.

Taste: Pineapple, grapefruit and cantaloupe are the definate stars up front and into the middle. It opens into a whole wheat bread malty quality in the middle with a dank bitter finish.

Feel: A very solid bodied beer. Definately fills the mouth and coats the palate. Maybe a bit too oily, but for me the mouthfeel of this beer, followed by the smell are the standout qualities.

I think the Hyperducks review below did a great job of summing up the flavours and textures of this beer. For my tastes this earns a solid B, but if your looking for a dank and musty, yet decidedly tropical IPA, then this could be right up your alley.

Canned June 15. Review from notes. The penultimate beer in this mixed 6 IPA pack (version 2.0) from Refined Fool.

Appearance - Rich, dark golden color with copper highlights. Small finger of creamy white and rather impressive staying power.

Smell - Light and tropical with an abundance of melon, cantaloupe and maybe a touch of papaya.

Taste - Sweet with cantaloupe and honeydew being the stars. Some bitterness at the end but predominantly sweet. Just balanced with a healthy malt backbone.

Mouthfeel - Thick and fairly heavily bodied. Had a delicious supper that melds nicely with the flavors. Carbonation is sufficiently brisk to give some depth.

Overall - Really good and slightly unusual IPA. Well worth the purchase and one of my personal favorites in terms of new beer in 2021. Won't say it made the six pack worth buying (some repeats and otherwise disappointed) but this was the best beer of the batch bar none.

750 mL bottle from the brewery; served barely chilled. The second in their new series of experimental batch IPAs; this one is billed as an East Coast DIPA.

Pours a foggy-golden yellow colour, topped off with nearly two fingers of fluffy, sparkling white-coloured meringue-textured head. It has largely faded after 5 minutes, leaving multiple swathes of lumpy lacing left to cling to the inside surface of the glass. The aroma is highly enticing, with juicy notes of mandarin orange, apricot and grapefruit, as well as some tropical fruit vibes and a few hints of floral hops.

The grainy, doughy sweetness of the malt backbone is a touch thin, but the juiciness of the hop profile manages to make up for this minor disadvantage. Citrusy flavours of orange and grapefruit combine beautifully with notes of nectarine, pineapple and passion fruit. The pithiness really ramps up toward the finish, along with a grassy, prominently floral bitterness that dessicates the palate with each sip. Pithy citrus oil astringency in the aftertaste which lingers on. Medium in body, with average carbonation levels that impart a restrained crispness to the mouthfeel. Feels smooth and slightly slick on the palate, with no sign of the alcohol - making this the sort of IPA that can sneak up on you if you aren't careful.

Final Grade: 3.94, a B+. And Then Bernice Flipped the Canasta Table is an impressive DIPA. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's my favourite Refined Fool IPA released thus far. It has a bright, juicy quality to its flavour that dominates initially, followed by an aggressively pithy and astringent back end that generates a drying sensation on the palate. Excellent stuff that should satiate the local hopheads for the foreseeable future.
