650 mL bottle from the brewery; served well-chilled. Reviewed on my phone.

Pours a hazy orange-amber colour, topped off with an inch of creamy, off-white tinged head. It lasts for a few minutes, soon replaced with a foamy collar and some scant lace. Malt forward nose; bread, doughy biscuits and caramel, with a few nutty notes and grassy earthiness.

A pretty good amber lager. Taste follows the aroma, with a restrained caramel sweetness underlying some bready, biscuity amber malt flavours. Slightly nutty with some grassy hay and earthy bitterness balancing out the latter half. These flavours linger into the finish, preluding the mostly dry aftertaste. Light in body, with lively carbonation and a crisp, refreshing mouthfeel like you'd expect from a Euro-style lager. Not perfect, and a little plain, but approachable and extremely quaffable.

Final Grade: 3.55, a B. Vienna lagers have never been a preferred choice of mine, but The Glistenator is a pretty decent stab at one. This is a straightforward, relatively pedestrian malty lager that would be fine for sessioning and has some level of mass appeal, but is unlikely to excite a majority of beer geeks.
