650 mL bottle from the brewery, served well-chilled. Brewed for Sarnia's Greekfest celebration.

Pours a cloudy pale straw colour, with one finger of soapy, sparkling white head produced atop. It fizzles off over the next 90 seconds or so, dissipating until only a thin collar remains. Simple aroma without much to it; just some grainy pale malts, with hints of grass and hay.

I took a few sips of this before submitting it, in order to determine whether it was a German or Czech-style pils - the brewery's blurbs don't hint toward either stripe. I'm leaning towards the former, but that's just a guess (and it reminds me more of a Helles than anything). Clean pale malt flavour dominates with a subtle grainy sweetness, with the hops imparting flavours of grassy hay and lemon zest. Dry finish. Very straightforward, but also very hard to stop sipping. Light bodied, with low-ish carbonation levels for a pale lager, which makes the mouthfeel a bit limp. Fit for duty as a tasty summer thirst-quencher.

Final Grade: 3.71, a B grade. The only thing that would make this bottle of Zeus Juice even better would be some souvlaki or gyros to go with it. The Refined Fools are steadily getting better at making pale lagers - this one's a little boring (as these styles tend to be), and the cloudy complexion doesn't really suit a pilsener, but it's still very clean and ridiculously easy to drink. If you like pale lagers, you'll probably enjoy this one. And now, I will struggle to resist the urge to end this review by smashing a plate on my desk.
