Pours clear gold into my glass with a loosely formed white head. The smell seems hoppy, wet-grass-like. The taste is crisp, dry and hoppy, more so than I was expecting due to their billing as a British Golden Ale. Mouthfeel is very bubbly, I can actually hear the effervescence from my seat to the table

650 mL bottle from the brewery and served well-chilled. Billed as a "British golden ale" - though with Mosaic hops included in there, I am not anticipating a very traditional experience. Reviewed on my phone.
Pours a foggy, unfiltered golden-blonde colour, producing one finger of dense, creamy white head. It manages to hold together for a few minutes, eventually receding down to a patchy, filmy cap and modest-sized collar. The Mosaic is immediately noticeable on the nose, courtesy of the citrusy lemon-lime and tropical mango notes, along with hints of nectarine and damp pine forest. Maybe a touch of strawberry, too; pretty appealing thus far.
Interesting - the mellow British malts are strikingly disparate from the assertive North American hops that were employed. Some grainy, doughy pale malt sweetness is discernable, but other than that it's mostly Mosaic - citrusy grapefruit, mango and pineapple juice come through, followed by apricot and pine resin. The bitterness peaks at the finish, where an almost medicinal astringency attacks the taste buds. It mellows out thereafter, ending with some light fruitiness and leafy earthiness in the aftertaste. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation that gently tickles the tongue with each sip. Enjoyable, but at the same time it only loosely resembles a British ale.
Final Grade: 3.81, a respectable B+. Quiet Down I'm Doing Cartography is a pleasant, sessionable ale that certainly doesnt skimp out on the hops. English golden ales are supposed to be fairly well-hopped - relatively speaking, of course - but this one might be a bit too much for the non-hopheads to truly appreciate. It still nicely showcases the characteristics of Mosaic hops, albeit in a decidedly non-subtle manner. A nice beer to try, but more of a hybrid between a golden ale and a session IPA than anything else.
