Looks like a typical pale ale, golden in colour with a 1cm frothy beige head. The smell/taste shows hints on honey obviously. The honey is subtle enough, you know it’s there but it’s not overwhelming. Quite good actually

473 mL can from the brewery; dated Nov 16 2022 and served slightly chilled. Go Sting Go!
Pours a clear pale golden colour, briefly topped with one finger of loose, soapy white head that fizzles off within a minute or so. A thin collar and film stay on the surface, with decent lace deposition - looks normal enough. Plain jane aroma of bready, doughy pale malts with a faint whiff of flowers and honey.
The flavours are along the same lines: cereal grains, doughy pale malts and a light honeyed sweetness that doesn't linger for long. Hints of grassy, earthy bitterness on the back end, with a weakly malty-sweet aftertaste that trends off-dry. Light in body, with moderately assertive carbonation that adds a prickly crispness to this brew's smooth mouthfeel. A very drinkable light lager with just a touch of honey sweetness.
Final Grade: 3.54, a passable B. I drank a lot of Lakeport Honey Lager back in the day - and while Lakeport was much cheaper, I will say that Bee-R is a better product. Now, that doesn't necessarily make it a really good honey beer - I'd say its more of an adequate one, i.e. a mundane, boilerplate pale ale with some honey notes mixed in there. Nothing to write home about, but I'd be perfectly happy with a solo cup of this brew in the stands at the next Sting game.
