Whores a pale, yet bright, almost translucent, yellow, fine, persistent, carbonation, a thin head that fades quickly. Really pick up in aroma. It is not unpleasant for sure. Shock, and light flavour with a sort of slightly fat undertone - maybe that’s the avocados I don’t know maybe that’s just the name… either way for a 7.6%. This is a shockingly tasty and easy to drink beer that does indeed remind one of a champagne and an IPA all at once without being overpowering! But it’s made by the refined fool is another surprise, perhaps the best in their lineup that I have tried so far

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario 473ml at 7.6%.
Poured into glass with 2finger head
Clear golden color good carbonation.
Leaves a lace as you drink it with a low bitterness level.
Overall a good brut IPA beer .
Cheers.

A champagne-like Brut IPAs is the claim. Pours up like champagne with a coarse lively head that quickly disappears. Bright clear yellow gold brew. Nose is all sweet and fruity hops. Appetizing. Big fruity flavours, assertive hops, but not stupidly aggressive or harsh. Not particularly bitter. Drinkable, captures the notion of champagne successfully I think. Enjoyable.

A nice looking bubbly beer. A bit sweet and fruity on the smell. The taste has some white wine notes, a bit more alcohol notes and stronger fruit notes. Mouthfeel is tingly but smooth. Overall a very decent brew

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. Thanks to Dan for this gift.

Appearance - Mostly clear, rich golden color. A finger plus of dense white head is poured, but fizzles out within two minutes. Plenty of effervescent bubbles.

Smell - Some melon, other indistinct tropical fruits and some grapes and vinous like activity.

Taste - Melon, some graininess and grittiness, hints of grape and mango. Lots of coarse grain in the background. Missing bitterness here and while the ABV drinks pretty well, it is noticeable.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, a bit stickier than many in this "clean and crisp" style. The booze hurts this here. Carbonation is alright, could use some more spritziness.

Overall - It's Ok but heavy handed, probably more like a double Brut IPA than most of the stuff on the market.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded 19324L #1219 and served barely chilled. I'm just glad there isn't any actual avocado in this beer, because I don't think the world is ready for peak hipster just yet.

Pours a clear, sunny golden-yellow colour, producing just over one finger's worth of soapy, big-bubbled head that settles off within the next several minutes. A frothy collar remains in place afterwards, but that's the only remnant of note - the filmy layer upon the surface is hardly worth mentioning, though the total lack of lacing might be. I'm getting melon, apricot, and a slightly vinous quality on the nose, with hints of tropical fruit (passion fruit?) and orange also coming through.

Not bad at all - it starts off tasting fruity, with notes of melon, passion fruit and mango giving way to orange and grapefruit by mid-sip. Hints of vinous white grape briefly flit across the taste buds towards the finish, with the profile taking on a drier, less 'tropical fruity', more 'champagne-like' character thereafter, which remains true into the aftertaste. Medium in body, with moderate carbonation levels that prickle the palate gently with each sip; the alcohol content is well-integrated and barely noticeable, but at 7.6% you'd be wise to show it some respect and pace yourself, at least if you're planning to have a few of these in a row.

Final Grade: 3.74, a B grade. Zane Lost His Avocado Bag is a more than serviceable beer that mostly gets things right, though there are probably a few areas for improvement. Namely, the mouthfeel could use a bit more spritz, and the abv - while not actually a major factor as far as flavour is concerned - does seem pointlessly high, which severely limits its overall drinkability. On the other hand, I did enjoy the fruity forefront and dry back end. No, I don't think I'd go out of my way for more of this... but frankly, that applies to every other brut IPA I've tried so far, so I can't hold that against it. Worth a spin if you have any interest in this style.
