Bomber purchased at the brewery's bottle shop; no packaging date and served slightly chilled. Described as a spiced dunkel or 'amber wheat ale'.
Pours a clear orange amber colour, capped off with one finger of foamy, off white-tinged head that seeps away within a matter of minutes. A thin collar of froth is left encircling a patchy islet of film; minimal lace. Coriander, caramel, toasted bread and nuttiness on the nose, in addition to hints of clove, apples, herbal tea and grainy wheat.
A decent spiced ale with tangy, herbal, fruity flavours - wheaty malts, toasted bread, apple and lightly caramelized sugars at the forefront, with the spicier elements coming through shortly thereafter. There's coriander and clove with hints of allspice, while the chamomile lends a pleasant herbal, floral twang that dominates the back end and lingers into a fruity aftertaste of green apples, wheat and coriander. Light in body, with aggressive carbonation that prickles and prods the palate, remaining crisp and lively throughout the session. It's actually pretty refreshing for a spiced wheat beer, but one bomber was more than enough for me.
Final Grade: 3.6, a B grade. You Got Me Myrrh is not a half-bad novelty pick for the yuletide season - I finished my glass easily enough, and truthfully it's an exceedingly flavourful beer for only 4%. It's just that it's an eclectic blend of flavours that won't be for everyone. If you have an appreciation for those gruits that Beau's puts out then this is worth a chance, but I wouldn't say it's Refined Fool's best spiced ale.
