Bomber purchased at the brewery; no packaging date. Served slightly chilled.

Pours lightly fogged but relatively clear in complexion; its medium golden-hued body is topped with one finger of loose, soapy white head that fizzles off within two minutes or so. A fat, bubbly collar sticks around afterwards, surrounding a filmy-thin cap; a narrow band of lacing is also deposited. It smells of grapefruit and lemon peel, with hints of pineapple, nectarine and pine needles; just the faintest suggestion of coconut in there, too.

A nice, light, fruity pale ale - I'm tasting stone fruit and pineapple at first, as well as orange and grapefruit, all atop a subtly grainy pale malt backbone. Faint hints of are coconut blended in, finishing with pithy, pine-y, slightly resiny bitterness that fades into a mildly tropical fruity aftertaste. Light in body, with moderately aggressively carbonation that prickles and prods the palate with enthusiasm, resulting in a crisp, refreshing pale ale that goes down with effortless ease.

Final Grade: 3.83, a B+. Pouch Envy doesn't seem to have gained much from a double DH treatment with Zythos and Sabro hops, but on the other hand, it didn't really lose anything either. I'd need to try this beside the original Pouch Envy to know for sure, but my general impression is that there isn't a whole lot of variance - the coconut is new, but it's very subdued and not much of a factor... I suppose there may be a little bit more pine resin and stone fruit character, but again, I'm just going off of memory here. If you liked the original, you'll probably like this one, too - I'd say it's worth a try if you spot it, but the differences really aren't significant enough to make this worth going out of your way for.
