Tallboy can from a 4-pack purchased at the brewery; dated Oct 18 2021 and served slightly chilled.
Pours hazy and translucent, its body a muddy orange-amber colour; it's capped with one finger of frothy, foamy white head that settles off within a few minutes or so. A generous collar of suds remains, with a decent swath of messy lace also flung about in its wake - looks good to me. It smells of peachy stone fruit, grapefruit and orange, with minor hints of bready malt and piney, lemony hops.
Not bad at all - its flavours include citrusy notes of white grapefruit, orange and lemon pith, along with hints of apricot and bready, doughy pale malt sweetness. Moderately bitter on the back end, with more grapefruit pithiness and some earthy, piney bitterness rounding out the finish. Medium in body, with middling carbonation that loses its spritz pretty quickly; smooth, slightly soft mouthfeel that feels pleasing on the palate. It's well-rounded by IPA standards, and fairly drinkable - I could have a few of these in a row, but a full 4-pack would be pushing it.
Final Grade: 3.78, earning a solid B+. Talk about a win-win situation: drinking some good beer that also contributes to a good cause! A relatively no-nonsense, no frills sort of IPA - there's nothing outstanding, unusual or especially memorable about this brew, but it is still a well-made IPA overall, so I gotta encourage local hopheads to try this one while they can. I'll most likely grab four more the next time I stop by.
