A bright red fruited sour that pairs perfectly with residing on or near Finch Drive. Robust raspberry flavours and aromas are the backbone of this refreshingly tart, fruit forward sour ale. If you can somehow navigate your way out of the unforgiving labyrinth of Sherwood crescent streets, you should come grab a bottle.

Bomber purchased at the brewery early this year; no packaging date. Served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear reddish-orange colour, initially capped with one finger of smooth, soapy, pale pink-tinged head that collapses within a minute or two. A tight collar lives on, encircling a few wisps on the surface, but there's no lace to speak of - yep, looks like a raspberry sour. Straight-up raspberries on the nose, and it comes off as authentic - raspberry fruit, raspberry juice, raspberry yogurt. Beyond that, there are also suggestions of lemon, lactic acid and cherry.

Not particularly sour to be honest, but its raspberry flavours are still quite enjoyable. Hints of graininess at the forefront, with plenty of raspberry pulp and juice; subtle lactic acidity contributes to more of a tart flavour by mid-sip. Lemon and raspberry yogurt at the finish, followed by a mildly tart aftertaste with lingering suggestions of sweet raspberry. Light in body, with low carbonation that gently rolls across the tongue, giving a little bit of bite to this brew's smooth, soft mouthfeel. Great drinkability, and relatively refreshing.

Final Grade: 3.6, a B grade. The Real Housewives of Sherwood Village is a pretty basic raspberry kettle sour. It's agreeable, sure, but as a raspberry lover I'm inclined to feel that way about anything that tastes like the fruit - the point I was getting at is that there's nothing else here. It tastes like raspberries, and it's (a little) sour - nothing to write home about, as there is no shortage of raspberry sours these days, so it's a largely forgettable one-off for this beer geek. On the other hand, I'm sure it'd sell well on-tap during the summer months, and so might be worth bringing back for that reason.
