Bomber from the brewery; no packaging date and served slightly chilled.
Its body is a relatively clear, brassy golden colour; a deliberately rough pour stirs up one finger of frothy, soapy white head that fizzles off within a couple of minutes. A bubbly collar and sudsy cap live on, scattering a small amount of lace about - looks fine to me. Smells of lemon, grapefruit and pine, with hints of earthy, floral hops and graininess; fairly aromatic for only 3%.
It's decent for what it is, i.e. an ultra-light session IPA - faintly grainy at first, followed by flavours of lemon pith and lime. I'm getting some earthy, slightly floral bitterness on the back end, bookended by a weakly fruity aftertaste that dries off considerably. Light in body, with average carbonation that lends some bite to this brew's otherwise watery/thin, relatively smooth mouthfeel. Sessionable enough, but surprisingly bitter given its lightness.
Final Grade: 3.45, a B-. Juggernaut Junior wasn't especially impressive, but I'll finish the bottle without a fuss. As usual, it's worth mentioning that I am not a 'session IPA' fella in the first place, but I still like to review them - this one is dull and inoffensive at worst, and a refreshing, forgettable summer session beer at best.
