473 mL can from the brewery; no canning date and served barely chilled.

Pours a clear orange-amber colour, with more than two inches of puffy, foamy white head immediately rising from the surface. It falls back at a steady pace, dropping down to a creamy quarter-inch cap and collar in a little over five minutes, leaving copious quantities of lace caked onto the glass. Hard to miss the alcohol fumes on the nose, but there's also plenty of piney, floral, earthy hop notes; a little spicy, with citrusy hints of orange oil and grapefruit.

Sweet malt flavours of dough, honey and bread at the forefront, with lemon, grapefruit, passion fruit and orange peel developing thereafter. Peppery spice and herbal licorice on the back end, with floral hops and piney, earthy bitterness rounding out the finish; boozy-sweet, spicy aftertaste that lingers briefly. Medium-full in body, with low carbonation that weakly nudges the surface of the palate; feels smooth, slick, tongue-coating, and like kind of a chore to drink after a while.

Final Grade: 3.47, a B-. Snakebite City is a passable imperial IPA, but beyond the high alcohol content, there's nothing extraordinary of note here. I appreciated the hop profile, being a fan of C-hops in general... but for a triple IPA, both the hops and malts come off a bit thin, which causes the booze to integrate poorly. The end result is a mediocre, alcoholic IPA that I don't entirely dislike, but don't particularly care to revisit.
