Part of the 2024 Winter pack. Same name now a Pale lager. Rated as such. Listed at 5% ABV. Canned September 16, 2024.
Appearance - Rich gold colored brew with a finger plus of foamy white head. Good staying power. Lots of clarity and a preponderance of bubbles.
Smell - Grain with some light apple notes and a bit of a chalky smell too.
Taste - Lots of bready notes, hints of sweetness, easy flavors to get behind and a lot of bread in case I didn't mention it.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied, plenty of carbonation, and a bit soft texture wise. The bubbles don't really get in your face on this one. Leaves a slightly chewy texture.
Overall - Good solid lager and probably the best of the 3 I've had from this winter's mixed pack.

UPDATE: Refined Fool has been re-using beer names. 3-Man Luge was originally a salted caramel porter, but as of 2024 it is now a pale lager.
473 mL can from the brewery; dated Nov 27 2023 and served barely chilled. Part of their "Winter Danger Sports Pack", a set of flavoured stouts & porters the Fools released during the Christmas season.
Pours an opaque ebony colour, producing an inch of foamy, light tan-tinted head that recedes within three or four minutes. A thick, creamy collar lives on, with a thin cap on the surface and an attractive band of lace adhering to the glass. The aroma includes cocoa, roasted grains, caramel and dark chocolate, with suggestions of vanilla, black cherry and coffee.
Not bad, but it's *really* sweet, which limits its drinkability. Caramel candy, cocoa and chocolate syrup flavours right off the bat, followed by dark chocolate, vanilla and black cherry on the back end. A little bit of saltiness, too, with cocoa and caramel lingering into a saccharine aftertaste. Medium in body, with low carbonation and a silky-smooth mouthfeel; gives you the sticky lips. The alcohol is well-integrated, but one glass is more than enough for me.
Final Grade: 3.57, a B grade. Refined Fool's 3-Man Luge should have some appeal for those with a sweet tooth, but for me, it got old pretty quickly. I get that there's no way a caramel porter wasn't going to be sugary, but this one is just all sweet, all the time. Not something I'd be interested in buying again, but at least the name and label were amusing.
