Pilsner and wheat malts create a light body allowing the Tango and Idaho 7 hops to shine. Fruity east coast hop aromas of lemon, passionfruit, guava and grapefruit mix with a little classic west coast pine and resin. 30 IBU

473 mL can from the brewery; no packaging date. Served slightly chilled.
Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow colour, capped with nearly two fingers of smooth, foamy white head that lasts for well over five minutes. It's eventually worn down to a frothy cap and collar, framed by a respectable swath of lace - looks good to me. The aroma is fruity, comprised of indistinct orchard, citrus and tropical fruits, along with suggestions of grassy, herbal hops and graininess.
Tasty stuff; its flavours are balanced and approachable, leaning a little to the sweet & fruity side. I'm getting grapefruit, orange and orchard fruits, e.g. apricot and sweet red apples, as well as some bready, grainy pale malts. The finish is still fruity, but adds some grassy, pithy hops and a touch of resiny bitterness to the mix; mild aftertaste of orchard fruits that quickly fades. Medium-light body, with average carbonation that gently prickles the palate, resulting in a smooth, relatively soft mouthfeel. Effortlessly easy to drink - akin to a session IPA that doesn't wimp out on the flavour.
Final Grade: 3.85, a B+. Dinner Party At The Johnsons won me over within a sip or two - and that's in spite of its muted aroma and understated flavour profile. I can't point to any specific feature that makes me like this beer, it just all comes together really well - one of those cases where it's literally more than the sum of its parts. I appreciated this more than most of their IPAs, and would definitely buy it again.
