473 mL can from the brewery; no packaging date and served barely chilled. Billed as a lagered IPA - that's a new one for me, but it's presumably cold IPA-adjacent.
Pours a foggy straw yellow colour, supporting an inch of puffy, foamy white head that dissipates in about three minutes' time. A full curtain of lace is draped across the glass, with a tight collar and filmy cap lasting on. The aroma is muted, consisting of a mixture of citrus, orchard & tropical fruit notes, with hints of grainy pale malts.
It tastes alright, but there's nothing to get excited about here - clean, grainy-sweet malt notes overlap with fruity hop flavours of melon, grapefruit and apricot. Light in body, with average carbonation that gives some bite to this brew's otherwise smooth, thinnish mouthfeel. Surprisingly thirst-quenching for a pale ale, with excellent drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.61, a B grade. You Should Check Out My Etsy Shop is an IPA for people who don't like IPAs. That might make it sound as if I dislike this beer, which is really not the case: ok, it's kind of boring and doesn't offer much of what I want from an IPA, but it tastes fine and could feasibly serve as a lighter, more sessionable IPA alternative. For instance, if I were mowing the lawn on a hot summer afternoon, a situation where refreshment is more relevant than being super hoppy & flavourful, I could see this having some utility. Not bad, but I'm not sure it's worth revisiting, either.
