Crisp, clean, and easygoing. This West Coast Pilsner pours light amber with a touch of bitterness and soft sweet fruit notes that keep it endlessly drinkable. 30 IBU

473 mL can from the brewery; no canning date. Served slightly chilled.
Pours a clear golden-orange colour, generating two fingers of soapy, foamy white head that lasts for the better part of five minutes. By that point, it has been whittled down to a wide, frothy collar and a patchy cap, with no shortage of lace deposition - it's an attractive lager, I'll give it that. Fruity on the nose, with apricot and peach coming to mind; I'm also getting hints of doughy malts, grapes and floral hops.
It's pretty tasty, but it's not particularly pilsner-like, either. I'm getting stone fruit and mango, followed by grainy pale malts and leafy hops by mid-sip. A little floral and earthy on the back end, with fruity hops reverberating into a mildly bitter, flinty aftertaste. Medium-light in body, with moderately gentle carbonation that softly tickles the tongue; easy-drinking and rather crushable.
Final Grade: 3.64, a B grade. Let's make one thing clear: Pony Bologna is barely pilsener-adjacent. I understand that this is a "West Coast Pils", so I'm giving it some extra leeway... but if I had a blindfold on, there's no way I'd guess that this was supposed to be a pils. I'm not even sure if I'd notice it was a lager. That being said, the flavours are still nice - I enjoyed the hints of stone fruit, while the touch of noble hops and grainy malts help this pils finish on a high note. I would drink this again, and I do think it's worth a shot, but if I were in the mood for a pilsner, I'd look elsewhere.
