473 mL can from the brewery; no packaging date. Served slightly chilled.

Pours a foggy pale yellow colour, generating more than a finger of soapy, foamy white head that degrades within three minutes or so. A frothy collar is left surrounding a thin cap, with strands of lace scattered onto the glass after each sip; looks fine so far. The aroma is a bit muted, though I am getting notes of peach, orange and a faint mintiness; maybe a touch of tropical fruit as it warms.

Nothing too exciting, but I like the flavours, and I think this has the potential to be a solid summer option. I'm getting peach, tangerine and orange peel, with a hint of something tropical (yellow guava, maybe). Coconut, stone fruit and light citrus pithiness slowly dissipate; somewhat persistent aftertaste that begs for another sip. Light in body, with potent, tiny-bubbled carbonation that stays crisp and prickly right down to the last couple of gulps. Great drinkability.

Final Grade: 3.77, a B+. Whatevs is a refreshing lagered pale ale that could work well as a lawnmower beer aimed at hopheads. I'll admit that it's a little light on, well, just about everything, but it possesses a thirst-quenching quality that makes for a good hot weather beer. The hop flavours & aromas could stand to be turned up a little, but in all fairness this is basically a session beer, so expecting a burst of flavour might've been too ambitious. Worth a shot at least, and arguably better than Refined Fool's Pants IPL.
