A balanced IPA built for easy drinking. Sabro, Simcoe, and Citra hops bring forward aromas of tropical fruit and fresh citrus, backed by a soft, approachable bitterness that never overpowers. 30 IBU

473 mL can from the brewery; dated Apr 30 2026 and served barely chilled.
Pours a clear pale golden colour, capped with less than two inches of soapy, sparkling white head that fades within a few minutes. A modest collar is left surrounding a patchy film on the surface, with a quarter-inch band of fairly even lace sticking to the glass; looks alright to me. Subdued fruity hop notes on the nose, including hints of lime, apricot, melon and berries.
Pretty light by IPA standards - while it's clearly not a session IPA, it does kind of drink like one. Citrusy notes of lime and grapefruit are interspersed with hints of passion fruit, cantaloupe and coconut. That last one gains steam late in the sip, overlapping with woodsy, earthy hop bitterness that doesn't last; coconut and tropical fruits echo through the finish before fading into an off-dry aftertaste. Medium-light in body, with gentle carbonation that weakly agitates the tongue; feels quite soft and smooth on the palate. Great drinkability, and more refreshing than expected.
Final Grade: 3.7, an acceptable B grade. Uncles In the Wild isn't amazing or anything, but I don't have any serious complaints, either. The coconut really bugged me early on in the session, but eventually I managed to tune it out and appreciate the other facets of the flavour profile. If this one sticks around, I'd probably pick it up a few more times this summer, as I believe it might have some utility as a lighter, 'summery' sort of IPA. Worth trying - and if you're interested, I'm pretty sure this is included in Refined Fool's latest IPA mixed pack.
