Really interesting black saison that was like the flavor of mezcal.

Pours near black with a half-inch khaki head that remains as a cap on top and leaves spots of lace. The smell is of dark fruit, spices and earthy hops. The taste follows with dark fruit, toffee and spice. Light texture with prickly carbonation.

Black Saison- those two words intrigued me enough to give this a try. Enjoyed it!

L- Very dark brown, almost black. Fizzy white head with very low retention.
S- Spices, belgian yeast, dark fruits and burnt sugar.
T- Belgian yeast, spices, caramel, sugar. Ends in a malty note.
F- Medium, slightly fizzy.
O- Good saison, not great. Making it black didn't improve anything to the style, I expected roasted notes mixing things up, disappointed on that front.
