Bought from Beer Drop two 16 ouncers.
Released for the Scottish Solstice. Apparently, the brewer decided 12% ABV pushed style's envelope too much and lowered it to 9. A good decision. 12 is hard to hide and this 9 was enjoyable... and well disguised as I enjoy my sippers.
Poured into my Samuel Smith nonic, Sacred Fire has a pretty opaque and quite a decent foam; but it goes away and leaves little lace. Smells are a nice malt base. Tastes follow, but instead of flirting with being too sweet as many in the style do, Sacred Fire finishes semi-dry and interestingly so; almost an herbal, bark-type after-taste; but natural. Full in my mouth.
My first from Ursula, they seem to follow the business plan of so many Colorado micros: love brewing, open your taproom, love people and your community, and eventually feed them. Everyone has fun. Seems like this is the 3rd brewer I've had in Aurora in two days... but then it is Colorado's third largest city.
3/11/22 Had the second can and it was as good as the first. A great sipper on a Friday evening after a March snowfall. I'm counting @ UnTappd.
