On-cask 9/14/2015 at Brutopia, in Cranston, RI served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a murky dark golden brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains Belgian yeast, citrus, caramelized malts and some hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel and orange peel. Then some breadiness comes in from Belgian yeast and a hearty malt character. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a decent balance. The oysters add a bit of an odd twinge to the flavor. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.
M: Smooth and a little crisp, medium body, light-to-medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, decent variation of style, it’s certainly different but not something that I could drink continuously.
