Malefactus is our Imperial Wheat Stout with brettanomyces. It is brewed to 12% ABV using abbey, debittered roasted chocolate wheat malts. The aroma is lightened by the use of coriander.
This special edition is aged 6 months in oak barrels on different citrus fruits from our greenhouse including Bouquet de Fleur oranges & kumquats. The flavor & aroma totally belie the pitch black color of the beer. Citrusy, sour & remarkably drinkable for 12% abv.

Pour is black with lots of beige colored head. Nose has a faint hint of ashy malt up front as the citrus blast completely takes over. Flavor gets a touch sweet, ashy roasted malt taken over by a citrus blast with a bit of acidity in the back end. Lighter body, assertive carb, semi dry finish.
