Oak Fermented - Dry Hopped. Our Pilsener is brewed using a traditional German Double Decoction mash and hopped with German Hersbrucker $ Spalt hops. Fermentation starts in open tanks for one week, followed by oak for an additional three weeks. It is then lagered for several months and finally dry hopped.

Very nice pils that delivers well known attributes with a bit of a sweet honey grain note. Pours well with a substantive build that hints at a nice full feel and flavor. Scents are prevalent. Foreshadowing becomes fact as tasting provides grains and honey biscuit that transition nicely to a lemony hop bite. There is a bit of drying that quiets any lingering sweetness. Drinkability is high. This leans towards an American pils over a German one. Borderline great.

Very nice pilsner and a pleasant surprise. Found it a my local Total Wine.

Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Bright slightly hazy yellow color with fluffy white head and great curtain lacing. Floral, honey smell and taste. Grainy and earth. Honey biscuits. Complex for a pilsner, smooth feel. I will go back to see if they have more!

Fine golden colored body with a mild haze presence; decent carbonation; one-finger thick head, white and lasting; rings of foam cascade down the glass interior. Excellent cracker-like aroma; mild noble hop character; fruity esters develop as the beer warms. Excellent light malt flavor and moderate hop bitterness; cracker and biscuit malt character; lightly spicy hop taste. Medium body; creamy with a slightly crisp edge around the finish; smooth residual sugar presence.

The double decoction works wonders with the mouthfeel on this beer. Overall, a nicely balanced and easy drinking beer with lots of nice nose and taste qualities.

Can from Vinyl Beer on the UES NYC. Pours a slightly cloudy light amber/dry straw gold with two fingers of foamy white head, nice lacing, smell is sweet doughy table bread, funky floral honey, hints of grass, taste is hearty multigrain bread, wheat grain, hints of floral honey, mild grassy finish, feel is light and crisp, dry finish. A crushable floral/sweet leaning pils.

Pours a crystal clear dark golden straw color. Nice three to four finger white head collapses pretty steadily leaving just a thin layer of patchy foam on top of the beer.

Aroma has notes of grain, sweet bread, herbal grassy hops with a touch of peppery spiciness.

The first thing you notice about the taste is that all the flavors are really mellow and smoothed out. Its that oak aging showing its impact on the flavor profile. Within that framework, you get some nice sweet bready malts but that graininess that was present on the nose is not present in the flavor. Nice grassy hops come through on the back end. Very minimal bitterness, but it is present.

Feel is light, crisp, and really smooth. Mild but bright carbonation. Somewhat drier on the finish.

Overall this was an outstanding pilsner - hits all the right notes and was incredibly drinkable. The can I had was not dated, so I am not sure how old this can was, but I feel like the hop aromas were a bit muted for a dry hopped beer.

No canning date

Pours a mostly translucent copper-gold body with myriad speckled particulate suspended continuously and a barely-there layer of off-white froth comprising the head; poor retention yields minimal impression of a cap, a thin though creamy collar, and a slight spatter of spotty lacing.

Aroma offers a mixture of lightly tart oaky lemon zest and composting grass upfront, with the lemon character in particular phasing steadily into the bouquet as fresh white bread, peppery rye bread crust, dried citrus rind, and morning dew/wet grass all enter into a bready, earthy harmony.

Taste offers a vaguely tart lemongrass opening with oak kissed with an air of vanillin subtly marking the backdrop; notes of toasted brown bread largely comprise the mid-palate, while a deft herbal/floral finish is touched by details of bread crust and grass.

Mouthfeel shows a taut medium-light body balanced seamlessly by a moderate-high fluffy carbonation seeing through to a snappy, crisp peak; flowing, character-driven dryness, hearty yet approachable swallow.

Despite an uninspiring initial appearance, this is a pilsner of ample complexity and well-attenuated form, accenting a building malt display with a lurking yet firm, hop integration; fulfilling and unique in every aspect, this is an example of a modern pilsner in balance, and yet another stellar lager from OEC.

A- Can pours into a snifter with a cloudy golden yellow body and a one finger frothy cap. The white foam peaks at a finger high. Good head retention as a small ring remains at the edges and small islands float in the middle of the beer. Lacing begins with a thick sheet and small webs beneath that.

S- A hefty strength in the aroma and it brings good malts, hops and a touch of the oak used to store and ferment the beer. Floral and herbal notes even with a hint of sweet fruits, vanilla sweets, a touch of oak wood, cracker and bready notes. Suggests maybe the lightest tartness ever here but not prominent at all.

T- Certainly becomes a bit more lagery, if you will, on the palate and the grains come on with some more strength. Plenty of hops still and the balance is better here. The hops are crisp here with more of a floral, herbal, spicy and a hint of citrus zest. Bread, cracker, Pils grain mash, a hint of vanilla oak and a touch of pale fruits. Not tart in this case.

MF- Very highly carbonated and plenty of depth to the texture. Very creamy texture but also foamy and it ends with a bitterness.

Impressed with all of the OEC brews I have had lately whether pale beers, lagers or sours. The oak add just enough to remain balanced and not distracting. Floral and euro hops balanced with the oak and plenty of pale grain flavor.
