Pours a clear, orange-tinged copper hue capped with a finger of near-creamy, off-white foam; solid head retention leaves a vague layer of cap, slight, frothy collar, and modest array of soapy lacing spread haphazardly across the walls of the glass.
Aroma brings honeyed white toast against shades of musty black peppercorn upfront, with spritzy minerality developing through a floral back end as rounded notes of toasted biscuit and nutty lager yeast close.
Taste shows caramel malt and campfire-toasted brown bread subtleties upfront; floral lager yeast sets a tone for hints of lemon into wet moss past the mid-palate as notes of grain silo linger.
Mouthfeel presents a lighter body and taut froth of moderate carbonation, drying delicately over a crisp mid-palate as a soft tingle lingers to a clean finish and boggy ‘snap’ proceeds through the swallow.
A credit to ambition here, as the inherently earthy subtext resounds beyond nutty malts and level, roasty breadiness; there's a certain struggle for identity in this largely fun take on the style
