L’anniversaire is our special 10th anniversary blend of imperial Flemish style red ales matured exclusively in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels for up to 3 years. It combines the dark fruit & plum character of a Flemish style red ale & distinct cabernet sauvignon notes to make a deceptively drinkable barrel aged sour ale at 12% abv.

Appearance: Arrives a magenta hued amber color with a one finger ecru head; squiggles of lacing
Smell: Lactic aromatics with tart plum, oak and a Cabernet aspect
Taste: Sugar plum and tart plum elements forward with lactic sourness building; after the swallow, the oaky Cabernet flavors emerge and there is a lot of drying oak in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with low to moderate carbonation; puckery
Overall: The Cabernet influence is special here

Had on tap. Murky opaque dark garnet red pour with an off-white head. Smells of tart cherry with a touch of acidity, with vinegar, bright oak, vinous must, and red currant. Taste is a new world flanders more than a sour red ale, but it is more acidic, lacto, cherry, and vinous oak backed vinegar star. Feel is tart and decently acidic with a cooling fullness.
