This beer was horrible. It tasted like soap. Hopefully I got a bad can. Usually I enjoy their beers

Dry like a fine Export lager and more bitterness than many authentic pilsners. The original C hop (cluster) gives it a classic old school flavour, but the new school Waimea gives it a little more zest. Lots of lemon grass with hints of underlying piny resin. A unique brew that's truly exceptional.

500 mL bottle picked up at the brewery; bottled May 2015 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a crystal clear golden-yellow hue, capped off with nearly one inch of soapy white froth. It fades away steadily over the following period of minutes, leaving behind a modest-sized, foamy collar and lots of beautiful lace. This is a fine-looking lager, and the aroma is about what I expect from a quality German-style lager - albeit a touch more citrusy than most imported examples. Grassy hops and lemony citrus overlie some grainy malts and a hint of apricot.
A pleasant, enjoyable, no-nonsense sort of lager, with the non-traditional hops providing a unique flavour profile for a pils. Grainy pale barley malts and some biscuity notes come through, along with some grassy, floral hops. Lemon zest and pithy citrus bitterness begin to ramp up toward the finish, with the sip ending on a spicy note. The aforementioned grassy, floral bitterness briefly hangs on into the aftertaste, fading shortly thereafter. Relatively light-bodied, with assertive carbonation that contributes to the crisp, creamy mouthfeel of this lager. The abv is a little higher than I'd prefer, but this is still one of the best domestic pilseners I can recall having.
Final Grade: 3.87, a very respectable B+. Innocente's Pils-Sinner is every bit as refreshing and tasty as my favourite German-imported examples of this style. Fans of beers like Jever, Bitburger and Radeberger should favour this one strongly, as the Mount Hood and Waimea hops manage to emulate the noble hop varieties used in those world-famous brands with surprising accuracy. A very good pilsener; one they might want to consider making a year-round offering.
