“When the smoke clears and the fire is out, all that remains is the smouldering taste of Smoke Bomb. Robust and rich, Smoke Bomb usues smoked malt along with the darkest roasted malt: black patent. You kow that guy that likes to sit in the smoke around the campfire? This beer is for him”ABV:7.8% - IBU:32 – OG:1.070 – FG:1.010 – Yeast: San Diego Super – Hops: Northern Brewer – Malts: Two Row, Weyermann & Briess Smoked Malts, Dextrine, Black Patent, De-husked Carafa III

22oz bottle, with no bottling date information found.
Clear, ruby brown colored body. A good pour brings forth a fizzy, khaki colored head that quickly bubbles away. No lacing.
Aroma is smoked malt, with prune and a touch of chocolate.
Taste is smoked malt, with a little char. The beer expresses some sweetness (similar to dark fruit), and expresses no bitterness.
Just below medium in mouth feel. Lower carbonation.
Smoke level is not overwhelming, and works well with the slight sweetness.

L: brilliant dark brown with ruby highlights under a thin light tan to cream colored cap with fair retention.
S: smells of smoke, coffee, chocolate, a hint of alcohol and some light phenols
T: Its smoky, malty and mildly sweet with a touch of light caramel as coffee and chocolate roll over the tongue
F: The body is medium plus and the carbonation is medium low
O: This a big malty smoke beer leans a little too heavily to the sweet but is a great companion for sitting next to a fire

L Dark Ruby corners with a white fluffy foam that recedes fairly quickly
S Whoa -- I’ve thought of hoppy beers like they are Hop Juice… and this one smells like smoke juice, if that were a thing.
T - Starts smokey and smooth then finishes dry with not much notice of any hop or bitterness.
F - was expecting something more substantial in a smoke but this one is light and much more quaffable than most smokes, can actually have a good pour of this and still want more.
O - Being a smoke ale and not your typical use of smoke like in a porter this one fills a unique spot for me. Very good.

OK, I'm at a bit of a loss. "Smoked beer" seems like it could use a bit more definition here. I really would have though this to be a Porter or Baltic Porter, but the first review by BankBrewer says it isn't so I'm going to assume that it isn't. Dunno if that's really an objective review, either.
Pours dark brown with a cream-colored head. Lots of lacing.
Beechwood smoked malt is the obvious feature here in smell and taste. Malty sweetness behind the smoke, and no hops to speak of.
It's good. It is what it claims to be.

My favorite smoke ale of all time. Love how its clean and easy drinking while having a smoke impact that doesn't overwhelm. Not a porter, and I think that is what I like most. Just a smoke beer. If it wasn't for the lack of head retention this would be a 5/5
