Appearance: This is the first beer I've ever had where even some 20 second after the initial pour and having scooped out a few inches of head, that the head growth is still trying to overflow the glass. The body is a raging torrent of carbonation somewhat hidden within a cloudy, murky yellow. Left a whole whack of lace behind and retained very admirably, but needs to be toned down a bit and a bit more cloud added.
Smell: As advertised, as cirtus, lemon and coriander battle evenly with some fairly even keeled hops. Warming seems to bring the hops out more, but it's not needed, the potency is there.
Taste: You get that refreshing wit taste initially as citrus comes forward and them it is smoothly assassinated by dry hops with a slight herbal coriander note. There's nothing bad here, and I'm going to give it some leeway, but the witness seems lost here.
Mouthfeel: The aftertaste is completely clean, which is a mixed blessing. The carbonation is incredibly aggressive, so aggressive it seems to dull it more then activate the taste of the beer. Transistioning is smooth, which is impressive given how much the two note contrast each other and don't compete.
Drinkability: Yeah, this is pretty easy stuff to drink as it is very light bodied and the carbonation seems to exhaust itself in the glass thankfully, instead of my stomach. It's sadly not the summer patio guzzler you'd expect from the style, but certainly a late spring one fits well here.
Final Thoughts: This beer is very well executed, and I honestly think this is the best you could do with this concept. Dry Hops and Wit though don't really mix. The easy drinking, citrus of the wit is killed by the dry hops (which are thankfully perfectly rationed). Part of me wants to say it should be marketed more as the dry hop beer then a wit, but realistically, I probably wouldn't have bought it if that was the case. Regardless, it is a very well executed beer that I would have again, but not when I wanted a wit.
