Pours gem clear and dark straw (SRM 1-3). The head is short lived, tight white foam, that leaves almost no lacing on a Laura pilsner glass. There is no visible carbonation within.
The aroma has peppery hops and crisp grain. Light lemon comes out later and eventually cornmeal can be detected.
Mild bitterness is just above light sweetness. The flavor is primarily cereal grain and water cracker. The finish is long and modest, starting off pleasant and ending with a drawn out, mild astringency. Warmth gives it a distinctive cornbread flavor.
The texture is similar to polished metal because it is hard, with sharp edges and a light body. Alcohol is as expected, carbonation is light.
This is a casual drinking beer.

A gift given with love and good intentions from my niece after a recent trip to the Daks.
Pale, straw yellow with steady carbonation rising in the clear liquid. Low white head with sparse retention and few lacy traces.
The aroma is nicely European - big herbal Saaz type nose, notes of lemon and roses mix with fresh baked bagels, mildly yeasty and bready.
The flavor is light (duh!) but not uninteresting. A toasted grain, biscuit malt character comes through above an appropriate level sweetness usually lacking in this style unless it tastes like soggy corn flakes.
Hop dryness moves in late as you swallow finishing clean on the palate.
Body is certainly light as described in the unimaginative name but the flavor and refreshing drinkability set this apart from any Busch league beer.
