Drank this awhile back. Draft pour and from can. Great dark color with an ‘I got something special’ smell/aroma. Spicy, but not overwhelming or unexpected...it’s called The Heater for a reason! The Milk Stout has a classic mouth feel and great finish. The ABV is respectable so don’t let it sneak up on you. Great beer with both a familiar and a surprising component. Will absolutely buy the next time they make a batch!

Look: Dark like a stout should.
Smell: Some chili along with roast. Smells delicious.
Taste: Chili is not overpowering. Good balance without too much heat.
Feel: Med mouthfeel.

Type: 500-ml. bottle
Glass: Karl Strauss 26th anniversary tulip glass
From: Bad Beat Brewing in Henderson, Nev.

Reviewed as: Double Milk / Sweet Stout
Misc.: No BOD on bottle
Tried this on a recent work trip and really liked it. So much that I picked a bottle. Gave the taster a 4.25 on Untappd and would expect to be right around that in this review. Went back and forth between whether this should be reviews as a Milk/Sweet Stout or a Chile beer, but went with the latter.
Poured a pitch black color with three fingers of frothy dark tan head. Serene setting underneath. World-class spiderweb foamy lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled milk chocolate, cocoa, serrano peppers, chocolate syrup, toffee and lactose. (Smell - 4.25)
Got those spicy serrano peppers up front. Not crazy, but they definitely dominate. Also got milk chocolate, cocoa powder, chocolate syrup, chocolate milk, mocha, creamy toffee and lactose. (Taste - 4.25)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This was just as good as I remember it on tap. The spice is there throughout, but it is not overwhelming. (Overall - 4.25)

This is a really unique beer to try. A massive milk stout with Serrano chiles. I've had it on tap a few times and for me as someone who doesn't like a lot of heat it has gotten better with a little age. Delicious blend of lactose with a peppery, not too harsh finish. Great job balancing this beer.
