Reviewed 10/25/2007 (Tap @ Redwood Lodge, Flint, MI):

Pours a brown colored body, with yellowish edges. Also comes with a nice frothy white head. Has some hoppy aroma, but it's not very strong. Has a bitter pale, dry taste. Pretty alcoholy tasting.

Came in an imperial pint glass. Was a deep copper color with a small off white head.

Smelled slightly hoppy with some citrus notes.

Off of the cask this tasted good. Some maltiness and some citrus in the hops.

Went down really well, although it was a little watery.

A good session beer.

Served with little head that rested on the amber/golden liquid. The smell was earthy/grassy and compromised mostly of citrus hops. Hints of roasted maltiness were also present. The cask conditioning gives this brew a crisp, smooth feel throughout, while maintaining the spiciness from the hops.

Sample at the brewpub: This brew is a cloudy amber/orange color with a thin light beige head that lasts awhile. Sheets of lacing coat the glass. The aroma is hoppy with a surprisingly spicy bouquet. Medium body with a nice combination of floral hops and spices, as well as a touch of fruit. The finish is citrusy hops with a mild lingering bitterness. Pretty good all around.

Served in a nonic pint glass, it was pale golden in appearance with a large sticky white head. Smell was mild citrous and herbal hops with some grassiness and malt toastiness. The low carbonation from the cask enhanced the overall creaminess of this beer. Very smooth clean malts go down easy with a very nice mild citrous finish. Some toastiness from the malts, and a little earthy herbal flavor round things out. Cask conditioning does good things for Redwood's beers.

Served on premises.A good hop bitterness, though its 38 advertised IBU’s are not much more than their helles. Slightly cloudy dark yellow body under an off-white head with mucho lacing. Finished off with a good, bitter aftertaste. Closer in style to an American ale, though not quite as malty.
