On tap at the brewery served in a sixteen ounce tulip.

Look- A dark cloudy amber color with a finger of off white foam. Wonderful lacing clings to the glass as it settles.

Smell- Citrus and spice with a bready yeast-like aroma in the back.

Taste- Grapefruit, orange zest, a bit of spice along the line of rye in the finish. A nice malt backbone to wash it all down.

Feel- Starts oily and finishes on the bitter and semi dry side.

Overall- A solid no frills IPA that is both flavorful and pretty easy to drink. A throwback to the day before everything in this style turned into a tropical fruit bomb. A nice change of pace.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Brewed with all Michigan hops.

Pours a rich copper/dark amber color with a finger of an off-white head. Looks like a well balanced IPA.

Smells of sweet, juicy citrus, pine, and herbal hops. A sugary/carmel sweetness and some biscuit are there from the malts.

Taste starts off with some juicy citrus. Tangerine and grapefruit pulp come to mind. Nice sugary/carmel malt at first to go with the citrus from the hops. Some light biscuit malt is added to the mix in the middle. Dries out significantly into the finish along with a big dose of bitterness in the form of pine resin, spicy herbal, and grapefruit peel. Get some juicy tangerine and grapefruit pulp carrying on into the finish as well.

Medium body. Smooth carbonation and creamy. An oily and lightly sticky finish.

Overall, a solid IPA from this tiny brewery in Valpo. In a style so crowded, this does not stand out; however, it is nicely balanced while still being hop forward. Not their best offering, but still enjoyable.
