Poured into a tulip glass via bottle
color is jet black with very little tan foam
smell is heavy on the vanilla (perfect!) with some caramel, brown sugar and bourbon just to round it out
taste is semi-sweet vanilla right up front. Barrel presence is less prominent in the taste than it was in the smell, which I was a tad disappointed about. ..a true vanilla bomb!
carbonation was low and the mouthfeel was just thick enough
as far as vanilla stouts go this is not top tier like BCBS Vanilla, but in the tier below..very good overall, but not worth the $150+ price tag a 16.9oz bottle fetches
