I’ve never even heard of 3 Sons before, but I think a strawberry Gose is exactly what I need to cool down on this incredibly hot day. It’s hard to get strawberry to come through well in beer sometimes, so hopefully this one can get it right. Let’s dive right in
Pours a cloudy pinkish red with 2 fingers of soapy pinkish white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
It seems a bit simple in the nose and on the sweeter side but it’s still pretty nice. Imm picking up on aromas of jammy strawberry, bready malt, lemon zest, sweet honey, cereal grain, brown sugar, and light sea salt
It has a nice punch up front in taste before settling into a welcome sweetness. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting lemon juice, dried strawberry, honey, crackery malt, sea salt, and lime zest. The swallow brings notes of jammy strawberry, lemon zest, bready malt, honey, vanilla bean, light coriander, and earthy wheat
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a tad chewy but dries out over time
It’s nothing groundbreaking but it’s damn good for what it is

A 1 pint can, canned on 13th October 2020, ‘bling bling’. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A cloudy pinkish orange colour with a one finger pinkish head that had decent retention, while leaving some lacing and (I’m guessing) strawberry pulp.
Aroma: Sweet, strawberry, jammy, cucumber.
Taste: Moderately sweet, slightly tart, strawberry, jam, light saltiness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: I loved both the aroma and flavour as it’s very strawberry and drinks real easy. In fact it’s probably the best strawberry ‘beer’ I’ve tried, since most are pretty poor. But is it beer? As it seems much closer to fresh squeezed juice or a smoothie than a beer.
