As the name insinuates, this barrel-aged imperial stout has no adjuncts added. Pure as the driven snow! When we sourced some super fresh Old Forester Birthday Bourbon barrels, we knew we had to release some of the aged stout untreated, and we're glad we did! This Forager imperial stout collaboration was aged for 22 months before being racked and bottled. Tasting notes include bakers chocolate, vanilla caviar, soft coconut, sweet dark tobacc and bourbon-soaked staves. Sip, savor, enjoy!

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells very chocolatey, with espresso, soft vanilla sweetness, cookie dough, tobacco, roasted malt, and lots of bourbon.
Pure is right as a name – this is just a pure expression of what intense barrel aging can do to a good stout. This has a thickly chocolatey and roasty character, with the barrel adding oaky spice, tobacco, vanilla, and lots of bourbon. There’s also some very light dark fruitiness.
This is pretty thick, but not syrupy, with a good drinkability. There’s a touch of boozy warmth, but it’s not harsh at all.
I really enjoyed this one, and tend to enjoy 3 Sons for the most part, with only a few exceptions.
