Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with minimal head. The nose is definitely barrel forward. Toffee, spice, vanilla, rye, plums, apricot, and maybe a slight hoppy note in there.
The taste is really nice. The rye really comes through here. Leather, dark fruit, burnt toffee, dirt, red wine, bourbon, slight vanilla, and a big oak presence. Really interesting! It's definitely a strong ale that is strongly influenced by the barrel. Comes across as higher ABV than it actually is, which I can't say happens that often.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied, and the aftertaste is rye and dark fruit. Really nice beer overall.

16 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 9/7/22, had 2/4/23.
Pours a semi opaque copper color with a half inch foamy head and some light soapy cling. Aromas of caramel, bourbon, rye whiskey, malt, vanilla, some oak. Has a spicy aroma. Flavors of bourbon, caramel, malt, light rye whiskey, some vanilla, light oak. Has a bit of a spicy taste. Smooth, a light feeling fuller body, appropriately carbonated.
Strong, tasty barrels. While this is flavorful, the lighter feel left this seeming pretty unbalanced. It could be a little heftier. Certainly worth a purchase.

Brownish black pour with lighter edges, beige head. Barrel forward nose, with big helpings of molasses, rye and caramel. Taste is boozy forward, nose way better as booze just runs this aspect completely. Feel is boozy and thinner but not hot, sharp rye and wood in a surprisingly tame body, impressed with this as barrels are shown off but not a bomb of a beer.

On tap at Windsor Homebrew in Costa Mesa, CA.
Can’t say much about Kentucky because your main man has never been. And speaking of “strong,” your boy is not (maybe I could bench the bar. Maybe). All that said, Kentucky Style pops like the Colonel on his last breath. I’m talking Balzac here, “Eureka!” 3 Sons showed up to the party and dominated it like Shaq in the paint.
Let’s go.

Excellent clear body with deep browns and garnet hues; thin yet persistent light tan head. Bold malt nose; roasted grain; suggestion of maple sugar. Big sweet taste cut with a fine bourbon undercurrent; tobacco; dark cherry; soothing booziness. Heavy body; dense and silky on the palate; heavy residual sugar smoothness; nice alcohol warmth counterbalance.
This big, beautiful Kentucky strong ale is an enjoyable experience, nicely balanced and cunningly hard hitting (in a good way).
Pouring temperature: 55.4 °F; canning info: Canned On 09/07/22 [KIN-TUK-AH SKRONG]
