This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells quite syrupy and quite sweet, with very sweet coconut, some nuttiness, and milk chocolate.
This is mostly certainly sludgy and pastry forward, it’s a little bit too much. I don’t get a ton of barrel character here, even though it was barrel aged for 27 months. There’s clearly a ton of coconut here, sweet, syrupy, and not quite toasty enough. There’s fudgy milk chocolate, caramel, and some vanilla, with a touch of pecan.
This is very thick, pretty syrupy, and not all that boozy overall.
I usually enjoy 3 Sons, but this wasn’t one of my favorites from them.

Appearance: Pours pitch black with no head; leggy but no lacing
Smell: Dark chocoloty with boozy rye tones
Taste: The Rye is quite prominent here, overwhelming the sweet chocolate as well as the coconut and pecan adjuncts; very boozy finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low carbonation; a lot of warmth in the gullet
Overall: I feel like I am being generous here with my rating; I know some folks like this approach as it is highly rated but it is just not my thing; if I want a Rye I will drink it neat
