awesome saison, brewed with wild wild yeasts from pa and aged in red wine barrels, a real success, and easily the best beer we had in here, super impressive for an unheard of brewery, and delightfully light, dry, woody, and funky, i loved it. bright but hazy straw yellow color in the glass with a short white head on it, some rings as it sips down, and a great aroma of musty weird wild yeast, grassy hops, raw white wheat, and soft fruity notes, must be from the wine, but i get white grape as much as red, and an orchard fruit vibe too, peaches maybe, really pretty complex. the flavor is just as awesome, with the wild funky yeast up right in the front, earthy and a little winey its its own right, with the sturdy oak and fruity wine notes behind it, delicious! maybe dry hopped, i get some green tea sort of hoppiness to it, and a citrusy complexion that really makes it seem fresh among all the mature yeast and oak. great carbonation, super dry, rustic and framy in overall presentation, and just a great beer. an unexpectedly well done and complex treat from these guys, this has to be their best beer! impressive barrel aged saison, lots of old world character, and wildish tasting. great beer!
