As a DIPA drinker, I was disgusted. I keep hearing how great Orpheus is, but continue to be disappointed with their DIPAs. This was not drinkable. I am sure if it was not the hops used. I just looked at the can and it was canned on 2/6/18, which may be the issue. I just bought it this July 4th week in Atlanta at Total Wine, which sells tons of craft. It should not be that old. I also notice they use Galaxy and Mosaic hops on the can, which should make it very enjoyable. Quality control? Distribution issues? Did it sit in the hot sun? I tried 2 cans out of the 6-pack and threw out the rest. Throwing out DIPAs is against my religion.
When I had their Transmigration Of Souls, I had skunked cans also. A term my daughter used who also tried it. I have never had any beer that was not drinkable. Not going to waste my money again on Orpheus!
I sent an e-mail to the brewery over a week ago to let them know what I experienced figuring small companies need all the support hey can get. No reply. Good customer service should always be embraced in any company. Missed the mark again!

12 oz can poured into pint glass.
A: Pours a cloudy golden wheat body, one finger fine foam white head that slowly fades to the perimeter of the glass, fine carbonation bubbles
S: Wonderful. Peach, mango, white grape, sweet and gentle floral bouquet that entraps your senses, the malt build gives way to cracker
T: Peach, tropical fruits, decent malt build that steps up as you let it sit for a moment, the hops come through with grapefuit rind and soft pine oil but finish well and end up with a mild sweetness, hints of cracker
O: I think this might be the best Orpheus I have had, you get get a good dose of hops but the malt/sweetness even it out that most non-DIPA drinkers could try this and enjoy. Thumbs up!

Pours a bronzed golden color. Slightly cloudy. Thick pillowy white head dissipates leaving sticky lacing on the glass along with a residual sudsy white head.
Aroma has notes of peach, grapefruit, mango, and some dank grassy notes. Aroma is somewhat sweet with some honey notes.
Taste has notes of peach, grapefruit, lots of grassy notes with a sweet honey flavor throughout. The bitterness on the finish is subtle - its not super bitter then you get a bit of woody bitterness gradually growing through the finish. Cracker malt backbone compliments beer well.
Feel is easy drinking, medium bodied. Mild carbonation.
Overall a nice DIPA from orpheus. Pretty straightforward and classic, but well executed.

Can dated 6-2017 drank 12-2017. I almost passed on it because of date, good thing I didn’t. Looks and smells right on. Taste is very juicy and sweet but the hop bite as expected has left the room. Still this is a damn good DIPA. The 8% is well hidden.

Denali hops, canned 6/7. Hazy gold with a thinner look on drinking, slight amount of head and lacing. Smell is slightly dank and slightly citrusy, while the taste is both of those plus slightly malty. Also has a bit of a tang and a very mild bitterness underneath. Easy to drink, alcohol well hidden, enjoyable.

Pours a hazed amber with a thumb of pearl colored head. Stellar lacing & good head retention
S: Cakeyness, tangerine
T: Herbal & woody hops, dryness, cakeyness, toffee & some grassyness & pear up front. Dryness, cakeyness, leafy hops & white grape as this warms, along with pine & grapefruit, some dankness
MF: Chewy, firm carbonation & good balance
A solid DIPA, was hoping for more, still glad I tried it!
More dankness on the second go around, plus pine , plenty grapefruit

Dark golden yellow to light orange in color, about 70% opaque. Two fingers of white foam that recedes to a thick ring and layer across the top. Lacing is good. The aroma is strong and delicious. Dank, resinous, citrus, and mild waves of tropical fruit. The taste follows, dank, resinous. Notes of some fruit, citrus, peach, tropical fruit. Body is medium, moderate carbonation, and a balanced, bitter finish. Overall, an excellent brew, my first from Orpheus.
