A: Pours up a pale gold with a tight, smooth half finger white head.
S: Immediate berry and funk, some sweet tart notes, and some subtle tannic undertones, definitely noticeable, but not overstated
T: Tart but definitely not overly sour, has some grape notes, but largely follows the sweet tart presence in the nose, there is a breadiness here and a subtle bitterness that recalls horseradish and/or sourdough (it’s not an issue to be clear), the tannins ebb and flow in the background of this beer.
M: medium bodied and dry, as it should be.
O: Though I would argue that this beer does not compete with its belgian cousins, no american beer I have had honestly does, this is a very good wild ale, and if you like funky american sour beers you will enjoy this, it’s a good bit more reserved than a crooked stave, but it still has personality, and if you value american sour beer, you will likely enjoy it
