On Draught at Orpheus
A: Pours up a nice hazy amber to orange color with a smooth half finger head with decent retention
S: The malt backbone is the first thing that jumps out followed by a peachy sweetness and notes of passion fruit.
T: Immediately this beer is a malt assault, it counterbalances this with a nice little pinch of tartness and some berry notes and some citrus, hints of lemon and lime. It also has a subtle note that burns the tongue ever so slightly, in a fairly pleasant way, I can only assume this is the lupulin powder as it's the only ingredient in this beer I know I've never had before.
M: this beer either needs to be more carbonated or more lightly dry hopped or more highly attenuated, it comes across as a bit too milky with no carbonation to clear up the issue.
O: This is a pleasant beer that I quite enjoy, it's the first beer that I have had from Orpheus that I thought had an interesting angle to it (its intense maltiness), and while I don't love this beer and while there is some punch lacking in the immediate flavor department (to me), I find this to be a very enjoyable beer, I'm not a big IPA fan so it's not likely I would have this again, but if this sounds like your bag it probably is, so give it a shot.

Side note: I don't know why, but I get the sense that this would go well with BBQ, ribs in particular

A 12oz can with a canned on date of 5.22.18

L - Bronze with just a little bit of clarity, 1 full finger of head. Gorgeous brew

S - Lots of bitter and tropical hops. Pungent.

T - Big citrus bomb with some bitterness. Malty bomb and high abv is pretty well hidden.

F - Medium body and well carbonated

O - Trans on steroids. Orpheus best beer new and improved (and stronger!) Well done!

look: honey-orange, hazy. Full creamy off white head, messy lacing.
smell: fruity and floral, with tropical fruit notes I don't recall in the base beer.
taste: like the base beer, the hop bite in the taste is not as razor sharp as in the nose but still has serious balls. Full citrusy, tropical fruit. Mostly dry with a slightly bitter finish.

Can from June 2018

The question is how can one of the top 5 beers in GA get better? quadruple dry-hop it! Congrats to Orpheus on celebrating a big anniversary in the best way possible - and thank you Hop,Grain, & Vine for the hook-up here!
