Brownish black opaque pour, dark brown head. Smell is everything hoped for in the prophecy: great barrel with lush bourbon and toasty oak, with orange, baking spices, vanilla, toasted caramel, and malt all dancing around within. Taste is more spiced than expected, barrel is still prominent but less deep with the adjuncts leading, stout base flavor itself is faint. Taste kind of like lebkuchen. Feel is warm, medium-heavy bodied, dry and decently spiced, but it thins out through the sip

Released May 2022; drank 7/18/22 @ the Yarchives.
Midnight black appearance.
An even pour yielded a small, noisy dark tan head which quickly dissipated; almost not lace.
Chocolate, nutmeg, orange peel & booze heat notes in the nose.
Thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Orange peel & chocolate flavors up front; mild vanilla & nutmeg notes on the finish. Booze heat emerged as this warmed up.
Balanced, despite the additional ingredients; a well done barrel aged dessert stout. I'd have another!
