Poured a transparent auburn color with minimal khaki colored head retention. The beer seemed an unusual style (at least that I'm aware of). It's flavor included some banana and clove like tastes which reminded me of a hefeweizen, but also had some spiciness and a tart characteristic presumably from the rye.
A decent beer. Something I'd try again, I suppose.

On tap at the brewery. I added and was not sure of the style. They said it was a German with rye malt and hefe yeast and Roggen seemed like the fit. Look is almost opaque brown and little head. Smell is banana and clove esters like a hefe. Taste is mets malts with some spicy kick. Style guides say these can go a bit sour and I taste that, tho I might have described it differently. Some of the hefe yeast in the background. Overall a nice one to try, but the style isn't my wheelhouse.
