Pour is cloudy (once yeast is stirred up - it is branded as a hefe). Minimal chalk white head that fades quickly to a tiny ring around the glass. Not uncommon considering the lacto
Nose is grapes, lemon rind, tart
Taste is pineapple, white grapes, big hit of lemony-tartness. Hint of clove. white wine. peaches, tangerines
Excellent sour.

a very cool wild brew with white grape in it, this i believe is blend two, im not sure i remember the number perfectly well, but it had chenin blanc and viognier in it, a couple of of cool varietals that seem perfectly built for something like this. a white wheat heavy grist in this one, with a hefeweizen element to it in the yeast, and a lot of tartness that resonates pretty well with the white grapes, as they obviously contribute a tannic element to it. bacterial and cleaner than the other funky one i had from these guys in texas this week, but with some definite farmhouse elements too. orange and lemon, green apple and pear, white wine for miles, and a lactic tinge. its summery in flavor but a little heavier than that in feel, largely because it doesnt have enough carbonation for the style. thats really my main critique of it, more bubbles would make it amazing. its also got just a little cheesy element to it in the nose, but the fruit is bright enough to cover it up and make it taste clean enough. cool use of the wine lees for sure, and the sturdy new oak character here makes it very vinous. id love to try a couple of the other variants of this one, the grapes apparently change from blend to blend. neat to see these guys making strides forward, this (along with the blanche de braunfels) was significantly better than anything ive had from them in the past...

I just had very seldom naughty, a Saison from New Braunsfels Brewery, Texas, ABV 5.80%. It is partially barrel aged and re-fermented with white wine lees (according to the bottle). I am a bit of a Saison connoisseur and I thought it was quite good.

Look: amber/orange hue with a thick fluffy white head.

Aroma: wheat, a tad yeast, citrus

Taste: It's wheat, sweet, tart, fruity, peach, tangerine, a tad banana, and some white wine flavor.

Feel: light to medium body with medium carbonation.

A side note: New Braunsfels, Texas, is where the world's best water park is.
