This beer used oak chips soaked in bourbon since (I assume) Mexitaly isn't eager to pay the cost of real bourbon barrels. However, that works for me since an overwhelming bourbon flavor isn't my thing in beer. The vanilla is the dominant flavor and this is a treat to drink.

Look: Pours pitch black, bartender didn't pour any head on it
Smell: Hints of chocolate and roasted malts, a touch of sweetness, and some bourbon
Taste: Chocolate and roasted malts, a nice bourbon flavor that isn't overpowering, and hints of sweetness and vanilla
Feel: Medium body, low carbonation
Overall: A pretty good example of the style, though the vanilla is very muted. I much appreciate the fact that the bourbon is complimentary to the porter, rather than overwhelming it
